Who we are
PropJo ("we", "us") is a small UK-based service that helps house hunters remember, score and compare the properties they view. We are the data controller for the personal information described below. You can reach us any time at hello@propertyjournal.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
- Account details — your email address and (optionally) a display name, so we can sign you in and address you politely.
- Property notes & photos — the things you choose to save about properties you view. These are yours.
- Scorecards & decision data — the scores and reflections you record, so we can show them back to you and generate summaries.
- AI-generated reports — the PropJo Property Report and PropJo Comparison Report. We store the generated text against your property so you can reopen it later.
- Billing information — if you upgrade to Premium, your card details are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Cookies & analytics — only if you've accepted analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
- To run the service: signing you in, saving your journal, generating reports on request.
- To process payments via Stripe and manage your subscription.
- With your consent, to understand how the service is used so we can improve it.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to train third-party AI models. We do not share it with advertisers.
Who we share data with
- Stripe — for payment processing.
- Our hosting and database providers (Lovable Cloud / Supabase, Cloudflare) — to keep the service running.
- AI providers — when you generate a report we send the relevant text to a language-model provider to produce it. We do not send your photos.
- Google Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies.
All of these are contractually bound to process data on our behalf and to keep it secure.
How long we keep it
Your journal stays until you delete it. If you close your account we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep limited billing records for tax purposes (typically 6 years).
Your rights under UK GDPR
- The right to be informed (this page).
- The right to access a copy of your data — use the "Export my data" button in your account.
- The right to rectification — edit anything in your journal at any time.
- The right to erasure — delete a property, a photo, or your whole account in one click.
- The right to restrict or object to processing.
- The right to data portability — your export is a clean JSON file.
- The right to withdraw consent for analytics at any time.
- The right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Security
Connections are encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by our auth provider (we never see them). Your data is protected by row-level security so only you can read or change your journal. Uploaded photos are stored in a private bucket and served via short-lived signed links.
Children
PropJo is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we'll let you know in-app and update the date at the top of this page.
